My roots don't lie, y'all. It's all natural! Being a blonde is a lot of fun (Just ask Marilyn Monroe! And, no we are not related!) But we do get a bad rep sometimes. Maybe some of it is deserved...! I thought I would share a few words of wisdom that I have learned as a natural blonde. Some thoughts are more serious than others, so sit back and don't look for a common thread. After all, these are the ramblings of a true blonde!
- Be yourself. Own who you are.
- Don't take life too seriously. If you can't laugh at yourself, you're setting yourself up for trouble. Things happen. How you look at it is your decision.
- Look for the positive in all things. It is there if you will just look.
- Don't rush and never settle. If it's God's will, it will be.
- Accept constructive criticism as it comes, but consider all opinions wisely.
- If you don't want people to know about it, don't do it!
- Never Google your ailments.
- Listen to your Daddy. He's usually right. (Yes, Daddy I admit that you are 99% right about things. Except the whole red suspenders thing...Embarrasses me to death!)
- Don't take Facebook quizzes too seriously. I am "a male, mid-50s with a purple aura and my Disney princess soul-sister is Mulan". Huh?
- Wear your seatbelt.
- Manage your stress before it manages you. (That was wise, wasn't it? Grin.)
- Listen to your body. But don't Google what it tells you!
- Follow the directions on your prescription. Trust me on this one...!
- Look both ways before you cross the street. You never know when a Mustang will come over the hill at 60 miles an hour while you are in the middle of the road... Again, trust me on this one!
- Make home your home. It is your safe space where you can be creative, relaxed and just you. If you want to lose the bra - or your pants - by all means. Just get it together before I get there!
- Pay off your debt. Even this blonde knows that credit cards can be the devil!
- No smoking. At least around me.
- Take care of your skin. (See number 11.)
- Schedule time each day to do nothing.
- Go to church as often as possible. (Yes, there can be a few hypocrites there, but I can't imagine a better place for them. I hate that excuse!)
Well, there you have it! Life lessons from a true blonde. Maybe we know a thing or two after all! We aren't that out there are we? I saw this on Pinterest and it describes me exactly. Applications are now being accepted for the man who meets these requirements!
