My Most Embarrassing Moment(s)!

This may come as a surprise to you, but...

I am kinda clumsy.

I slip, I trip (usually over Peanut...) or most often, walk into walls and/or door frames.

I claim the crazy. It's Just Me, JC after all!

Where on earth do I start?

1. I broke my nose in 11th grade at the Mississippi All-State Band clinic. We stayed at a hotel on the beach in Biloxi, MS and several of us were out on the patio talking and eating dinner. For some unknown reason, I tried to feed a fried shrimp to a seagull that WOULD NOT leave us alone. I tried to give him the shrimp, but he took off. I took off after him - and slammed my face into the sliding glass door. Have you ever had a broken nose and then have to buzz in your mouthpiece (I played the French horn) for a concert the next day?! One of the most painful experiences ever. And of course EVERYONE got the biggest kick out of it. Hmph.

2.  I wasn't only a band geek, I was a show choir gal as well. We were putting on a Christmas show for the elementary school my senior year, and part of it had me dancing as a reindeer around the auditorium. It was all cute and funny until I slammed my face into one of the columns. And broke my nose for the second time! (Who knew that music would beat you up more than sports?!)

At the annual show choir banquet I was awarded "The Blind Reindeer" award. (See above)

3. Anything I wore in 6th or 7th grade. #scary 

4. This embarrassing moment wasn't quite as funny, but it was THE most embarrassing moment of my life. Getting hit and run over by a car on my college campus. He was drunk, and I was walking to class. When you become a news story and college students all around are staring at you bleeding from you head...I was so embarrassed.

Since writing this post I have successfully busted my hiney in the hallway of the nursing home where I work and cracked my knee.

I was cleaning out my marketing closet and crashed a 6 ft metal pop up banner on my head. (Be careful what you are pulling on does not have said banner on top of it...)

Bathroom Inspo!

Now that I'm (finally) unpacked and settled in my new house, I've had the time to reevaluate my style. Many of my former decorative pieces are being used - some in different rooms altogether. However, I am happy to report I have an extra full bath that I get to start fresh with. I've found the curtain, rugs and accessories already, but it's still a little bare. So of course I turned to my good friend Pinterest for a little inspiration!

Can we just stop for a moment and say "WOW"?! It's chic, it's girly, it's gorg! (And really clean...)

I really enjoyed watching Cassie's bathroom renovation on her blog "Hi, Sugarplum!". 

Her style is close to my own, so I'm constantly looking to her (#stalkingher) blog for great ideas.

I could really do this wallpaper in real life. The colors don't intimidate me, and it goes great with the all white theme.

Ha, if only...!

I put together some bathroom accessory mood boards to get an idea for a color scheme and such. 

I really liked the black and gold combo. (And it already matches my hardware. #score!)

And since it's the guest bath, I wanted to have a little fun. Bright colors is always in for me!

So what did I go with?...

I really love the navy and white against those grey walls!

Now to find something for the walls and the final accessories!

Bright and Colorful Details

One of the best ways to add personality to your home is to add color.

It doesn't have to be too bright or colorful, but that's what we are goiing to be looking at today. 

I always tend to lean more to the colorful look (remember those bright blue walls at the old house?!), so I really enjoy seeing what else is out there in the blogosphere to give me fresh inspiration.

An interesting mix of color without being too much

To me, this is just too much all together, but I love the many different colors incorporated here. 

(Look at that fluffball of a cat! It's bigger than Peanut!)

I really love that wing chair. This is a very boho-chic corner.

More neutral room with just little pops of color.

Flowers are the easiest way to add color to a room. And it's easy to change up the color scheme with different types and colors of flowers.

Just Me, JC - Favorite Movies!

I am a big movie fan. 

I honestly watch less and less as I get older because my attention span gets shorter and shorter. 

This will be a fun trip down memory lane as we look at my favorite movies!

I love the ORIGINAL Star Wars trilogy.

Apollo 13

I'm planning to do a Just Me, JC on my love for all things NASA as silly as that is.

Laugh it up, but I love the Twilight series. 

I love WW2 anything, so Pearl Harbor was a must, and I love the soundtrack, too.

Probably my all time favorite (non-Disney) movie.

And my favorite holiday movie, The Holiday.

Always a great watch.

Who doesn't love Titanic?

I love all the Disney classics, but I would say my top 3 are 

The Little Mermaid, The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. Or The Lady and the Tramp. Or Cinderella...

But this one is still at the top of my list!

Color Inspo - Emerald!

I'm a May baby, so I've always loved emerald. I've never thought to really use it in decor, though.
