The Foretaste of Glory

Alright, guys...it's another week! Let's do this! I have a busy week ahead of me (again), and I need all the motivation I can get. And this week's Motivational Monday post gets me excited!

The Foretaste of glory. What is the first thing that comes to your mind? Most likely you immediately think of one of my favorite hymns.

Blessed Assurance

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine
Heir of salvation, purchase of God
Born of His spirit, washed in His blood.

This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long.

If you have Jesus you have a story. He has been writing your story from the very beginning. Jesus was there long before you asked Him to make your heart His home. So what is your story? I don't know about you, but my story is full of Godstop moments where you can see Him in all His glory. But it is also full of moments I don't really want to think about, let alone share with the world. We have a story to tell. We have to. We just need to learn how to articulate it as God reminds us of Jesus and His works throughout our life.

Think back to a time when Jesus was wooing you, drawing you out and bringing you closer to Him. Was it during a season of joy overflowing? Or was it during a season of gut-wrenching pain? Most likely a little of both. We need to remember those moments as tough as they may be in order to see how far we have come in Christ. We see God evident in even the darkest moments. Sometimes those dark moments are easily relatable. Can your story foreshadow God's glory in another? We have the assurance, the blessed assurance that God has been with us throughout the most disastrous and joyful moments of our lives. We have had a foretaste of Glory. Share it with the people God puts in your path this week. And remember:

Life is your ministry. Walk in a manner worthy of your calling. Share the gospel this week!

Have a great week, friends!
